The problem with lobbyists and with political spending, the Supreme Court of the U.S. has always taken the position that the most important speech is political speech, hence it is the most protected and the reason why, at least for candidates for federal offices, there is no censorship on political advertising for federal candidates, however offensive the ad may be ! (Remember Lyndon LaRouche ?) Even the F.C.C. cannot censor federal candidates’ TV, radio, web or telephone ads.
