When I was in my early 50’s I surprisingly found out that I was gonna be a daddy again and I remember thinking at the time that this sorta stuff happened to high schoolers, not 50 year – olds like me. On November 06 1995 all that uncertainty went away though the moment the nurse handed me a wee baby girl named Camera Anne Johns Summerfield. She was screaming bloody murder so I gently stroked her silky hair as I gave her little kisses and began to whisper in her ear what a fun life we were going to have together. I told her about all the great adventures we were going to go on and all the wonderful places we were gonna visit. She must have bought into my plan because she soon calmed right down and as I think back now some 21 years later, I do believe we did ’em all.
Our adventures began by our going to Hawaii when Cami was but a wee thing, then it was off to the mountains of British Columbia several times. All over California a whole bunch of times which enabled us to do Disney and Universal Studios on both coasts and hang out in the wine country up north. We hid from a hurricane in Chicago and even went across America by train. Once while visiting my Mom in Canada she asked me why I was doing all these things with Cami now because she claimed that she was much too young to remember any of it. I told her that Cami was having a great time doing all this stuff with me so it really didn’t matter if she remembered it or not because I was going to remember it all for her. Happy 21st wee one, I love you with all my heart! xodaddyxo
