I agree, “Thou shalt not hit a woman,” but I must admit that they occasionally they make it very tempting.

When I moved to Indianapolis from Toronto in the early ’70s, I was horrified to learn that because Indiana was divided during the Civil War, brothers were killing each other.

Everything we’re being told is probably more opinion than fact.

Successful people are those who can resist temptation the longest.

The smartest man in the room is the one who not only hangs out with smart people; he hires them.

  1. George: If you want to see how tragically divided Indiana was in the Civil War, the 1956 movie, “Friendly Persuasion”, starring Gary Cooper, Dorothy McGuire and Anthony Perkins about a Quaker family living “along the banks of the Muscatatuck River” near Vernon, Indiana. The 1945 book, “The Friendly Persuasion”, by Indiana author, Jessamyn West, individual vignettes were published in many weekly national magazines during World War II, written while the author was recuperating from tuberculosis and based on recounting recollections from her mother. The movie featured the theme sung by Pat Boone !

  2. Wendy Holmes: Because men, in most instances, are physically stronger than most women, men should not strike women. In my lifetime I have never been hit by a man but I have been very annoyed with a man. Therefore, I don’t get mad, I get even!! 12/23/24
Geo: The thing I don’t understand, Wendy is why women think it’s ok to say despicable things to a man that if said by a man would get them punched out?
