  1. Jeeze Chuck, all the things that Nathaniel will leave behind makes the ‘free world’ sound a little like Communism. Also I assume that 1. The check could be translated into Canadian as cheque?

As for newspapers, all the electronic media keep saying newspapers are dead. Why is it then that newspapers are the main ones uncovering scandals and misdeeds. In Toronto for example, it was the Toronto Star that uncovered the story that our former mayor, Rob Ford had alleged drug connections and other possible vices. The Daily Mail in London just reported that the French Police had stopped watching the recent terrorist subjects 6 months ago.

Radio cut newsrooms staff down so long ago that sadly, they aren’t breaking stories any more because they no longer have the reporters. Even so-called all news stations.
I do admit that the BBC has an outstanding news division (radio & television) with reporters in all the hot spots.

The two news/talk stations here in Toronto take most of their on air topics from newspaper stories. That’s sad enough right there.

I am going to miss the Book though. My personal library has over 3000 books, music biographies, books about radio, the record industry, etc. Not one non fiction book among them. And yes, I’ve read them all (except for the Joel Whitburn Billboard chart books, but I use those for research all the time)

    • Yes indeed check could be translated to cheque but unfortunately it would not change anything because we would still receive fewer than we need. The predictions for Nathaniel are based on his lifetime and seeing as he has just finished his first decade the re is sometime to go yet but I don’t think we’ll be here to witness much of it. Most of the things that will disappear though of course will be replace by some other form of the same thing.

  2. Sorry George, Chuck McCoy and I were e-mailing back and forth this morning and I put his name in the heading instead of yours by mistake.

  3. Radio it doesn’t know its history yet; but listening to stations up and down the east coast in the last two weeks was quite revealing
