It’s about complacency George! People expect mediocrity today, and radio delivers! The worst radio copy I’ve ever read…always includes the words “located at”! Don’t get me started on this topic! If the advertiser knew how useless the impact of their message was these days, maybe there would be changes.
Heck…TV was supposed to quiet down commercials a year ago. Did it happen? The agencies and broadcasters have done nothing! The FCC has done nothing! Network Promos have gotten even louder! No Guts. No Innovation. No Creativity! DEAD!

Don’t know Paul Cavenaugh, but wish I’d worked with him! I totally agree on “worst copy,” and today’s acceptance of mediocrity for radio. How about my least favorite, “CONVENIENTLY located at?” Awful.
You also made me double check some dates. Bought my Lamborghini Miura at age 24, Maserati Ghibli at 29, and first airplane at 33. I’ll bet you’ll say “We were paying you too much?” 🙂

Thanks Bill. As you know I started my Radio career in Canada where every station had copy writers and more. I thought when I moved to America that there must be huge staffs because American Radio sounded so much better only to find it had at least 40% fewer employees.
