Necessity Is a “Mutha” (new geo Blog for the week of April 10/17)

Sir Paul McCartney who undoubtedly will go down in history as one of greatest songwriters of all time recently gave a lecture at a college that his stepson attended here in South Florida.
During the Q&A portion of the session, Paul, when asked by one of the students, how the songwriting part of his life began he responded by saying that learning to write songs became a necessity. The Beatles he went on to say like every other group in Liverpool, did cover versions of American hits but the problems with that began when we became big enough to be the headliners. Being the headliner was great except for the part where we closed the show. When it came time for us to hit the stage the groups who had performed earlier had already played all tunes that we planned on playing that night.
The only reason Paul claimed that he and John ever began writing songs was out of pure frustration. We basically learned to write so that we’d have something to play when it was the Beatles turn to do so.
When you’re on top of your game the only press you get is the kind designed to bring you down.
There are two types of people in the world, the ones who believe life is gonna turn out good and those who think it will turn out bad.
Those who know the most tend to achieve the most.
It is much more difficult to grow than it is to change.
The ability to see what others can’t is a gift.
You are whomever the guy who signs your checks says you are.
The people who bitch the most are usually responsible for what they are bitching about.
I am told that the difference between a slut and a whore is that a whore sleeps with everyone whereas a slut sleeps with everyone but you.
God or somebody calling themselves god gave us all the gifts we have but whether or not we use them is up to us.

Have you ever noticed that when you need a solution for a big problem you always tend to look up?

It’s better to fail while attempting to do something new than it is to repeat something old over and over again.
Everybody is political about something including Snopes.

There needs to be some sort of balance between what you’ve always wanted to do, what you like doing, and what should be done.
According to Brent Farris of KZST in Santa Rosa, a new survey says a lot of people are leaving California for Texas because of housing costs. On the other side of the coin though there are also a ton of rich people moving to California because now there’s not a lot of poor people living there anymore.
Has anybody ever spotted an Asian driving anything but an Asian car?
I’ve always loved and understood the line … Why would you ever join a club that would allow you to become a member?
My daughter Cami has been through more drama than most women twice her age which has made her I’m proud to say, the strongest woman I’ve ever met.
I wonder how much it pays to be an actor in a successful series like “Game Of Thrones” and if you hold out for more money do they just kill you off?
Is it just me or does it seem like the far right and extreme left have gone quiet lately?
For the life of me, I can’t figure out what purpose going bald serves?
Nobody tells the whole truth.
The first time I realized that I didn’t understand women was when my wife came home from the Doctor and cried because he had told her she may be pregnant. Later when she was told that it was probably a false alarm she cried again and once again when it was confirmed that she indeed was pregnant with our daughter Candis.

  1. Good One George: That is indeed true about Sir Paul: By the time they would hit the stage they had no songs to play the first act beat them to it: He dosen’t have that problem anymore. LOL
