Doubleday & Co., the New York publishing and broadcasting company have agreed to sell Chicago radio station WMET-FM to Fairwest Enterprises of San Diego, reportedly for about $12 million. Fairwest also owns radio stations WZPL in Indianapolis and KKCW in Portland, Ore. Doubleday bought WMET in 1983.
