When my grandson Nathaniel (pictured below) was in kindergarten, my daughter Candis (pictured above) volunteered to teach an art class at his school. Being a singer/songwriter she decided that since music is no longer taught in school she would teach the kids how to write a song. What they came up with was a little tune called “Cool To B A Kid” and because Candis used to be the director of licensing at WEA, she knew how to get the tune published with BMI. Next she went into the studio and recorded it. Not only did each kid receive a CD of their tune, they also got an official document stating that they were one of the writers.
